Roundtable News
While the Roundtable’s social scientists, legal experts and other researchers worked to provide much-needed analysis on longstanding questions concerning faith-based social services, the project’s journalists kept up with developments through a weekly e-newsletter and occasional news alerts. Among the regular areas of their beat were:
- Legislative, regulatory and administrative developments, including the workings of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and religious outreach centers established within federal agencies;
- Federal budget negotiations affecting services provided by religious charities;
- State and local efforts to encourage the involvement of religious organizations in providing government programs;
- Court decisions affecting faith-based social services;
- Private and public funding of faith-based services;
- Service provision and innovation, including feature stories on faith-based providers;
- Religious organizations’ effectiveness in delivering social services.
You can find their work by topical area or by date, through the newsletter archives. See the links at left.
